My name is Mónica Torres-Net, a first-year PhD student at the Department of Linguistics at NYU. My research interests are in phonetic, phonology, and sociolinguistics. More specifically, I am interested in speech perception and how linguistic and social cues impact perception.
I earned my Master's Degree at Seoul Natual Univeristy, supervised by James Whang. During my master's, I investigated the perception, production, and imitation of the Seoul Korean stop contrast.
