This is Minghao Ye, a software engineer at TikTok's CDN Development team. I am responsible for designing and implementing intelligent traffic scheduling mechanisms for TikTok's global CDN system, aiming to provide high-quality and cost-effective edge cloud solutions to efficiently deliver large-scale VoD traffic to billions of TikTok users worldwide.
Before joining TikTok, I obtained my Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from New York University (NYU) in 2024 and 2019, respectively. I also received dual B.Eng. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, in 2017.
Since 2018, I have been working with Professor H. Jonathan Chao at the NYU High-Speed Networking Lab. My research interests include traffic engineering, network optimization, software-defined networks, and machine learning. During my Ph.D. studies, I have designed multiple intelligent traffic engineering solutions to configure adaptive routing strategies for wide-area networks using machine learning, aiming to improve network performance under dynamic traffic scenarios and unexpected failures.
In terms of publications, I have co-authored 17 papers (9 first-authored) with 400+ citations in top-tier networking journals and conferences, as well as a book chapter. I am also the recipient of the Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award (2024), the Graduate Research Excellence Award (2023), and the M.S. Academic Achievement Award (2018) in Electrical Engineering at NYU.
Please feel free to contact me via email (minghao.ye [at] nyu.edu). I welcome both academic discussions and potential collaboration opportunities.
