You will have online assignments administered through WebAssign. WebAssign problems are computational in nature and assess the techniques introduced in class. You will get immediate feedback on your progress and will get several chances to ensure it.
Your section will have an NYUClasses page administered by your instructor. Your section's roster is synchronized with a class on WebAssign. To log on to WebAssign, you will only need to go to your section's NYUClasses site, click the link at the bottom of the page. No separate username, password, or class key is necessary.
You will have a two-week grace period from the beginning of the term to purchase and activate a WebAssign license. Licenses can be purchased either as part of a textbook bundle at the NYU bookstore, or online through WebAssign. You can use a credit card or PayPal when purchasing your license online.
Each time you use WebAssign during the grace period you will be shown a reminder of the number of days left in your grace period, and a link to enter or purchase a license code.
WebAssign is the platform on which you do your online homework. Enhanced WebAssign comes with extra digital resources, including
Enhanced WebAssign costs a bit more but students report that the enhancements are quite useful. You can even forgo buying a physical textbook if you want!
You can buy a license that lasts for one semester or one that lasts as long as the department is using the current edition of our textbook. The multi-semester license costs less than twice as much as the single-semester license, so if you think you might take more than one calculus course (including, though we hope not, the same course more than once), you should buy the multi-semester license.
