While Salalah offers many other hotels, the ones we have suggested are specifically those where the University shuttle bus will collect participants for transport to the conference venue.
Salalah is located in the Dhofar Governorate in the far south of Oman, approximately 1,000 km from Muscat, the capital. There are several ways to reach the city.
The easiest and fastest way to reach Salalah is by flying into Salalah International Airport (SLL).
From Muscat: Oman Air and Salam Air operate daily direct flights from Muscat International Airport. The flight takes approximately 1.5 hours.
From other GCC cities: Direct flights are available from Dubai, Doha, and some other regional hubs, depending on the season.
From the airport to the city: The airport is located about 15–20 minutes from the city center. Taxis and ride-hailing apps are available. Some hotels also offer airport transfers.
If you prefer to drive, Salalah is connected to the rest of Oman by a modern highway.
From Muscat: The journey takes approximately 10–12 hours via Highway 31 (Muscat–Salalah Road). The route passes through Nizwa, Haima, and Thumrait. It is a long but scenic drive through the desert and mountains.
From Dubai: The drive takes approximately 12–14 hours, depending on the border crossing at Al Ain/Buraimi.
Car rental: Available at Salalah International Airport and in major cities.
