Sponsored by the Office of the Dean for Humanities, the 7th Annual NYU Conference on Second Language Pedagogy will provide an opportunity for language instructors to exchange innovative research and effective practices, discuss successes and challenges of teaching world languages, and create opportunities for further collaboration. This year's conference theme is "Languages in Dialogue."
We invite proposals from faculty and graduate students for papers (20 minutes) on topics related to the theme of the conference, including (but not limited to):
Pronunciation, fluency, and the building blocks of oral proficiency
Conversation, debate, presentational speaking in and beyond the classroom
Assessing spoken language: tools, rubrics, and feedback strategies
AI as a tool for language learning, speaking practice, and oral assessment
Heritage language learners and the negotiation of linguistic identity
Interdisciplinary approach to language teaching and learning
Community-based and service learning across language communities
Preference will be given to presentations that are hands-on, practical, and directly applicable to the classroom.
Abstracts ( 250 words maximum) should be submitted online by June 8, 2026 before 11:59 p.m. EST via this form.
