Hello!
I am a Senior at NYU Tandon pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Originally from Long Island, my move to the bustling city of New York has been a transformative experience, both academically and personally. Throughout my time at NYU, I have actively participated in various cultural and professional communities, including the Indian Cultural Club and the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE). Additionally, I have had the opportunity to support new students as an Undergraduate Orientation Leader, guiding over 800 freshmen and transfer students in their transition to university life.
Currently, I am engaged in multiple research initiatives that enhance my academic and professional growth. I am part of the NYU Undergraduate Summer Research Program, where I am continuing my research into the semester where I am developing a pipeline to automate voice activity detection, speaker diarization, and transcription for daily speech medical audio data, achieving superior accuracy compared to OpenAI’s Whisper. At NYU Abu Dhabi, I contributed to the KATIB project, conducting EEG experiments focused on handwriting accuracy with various feedback mechanisms. I also worked on a project exploring the use of tactile feedback to alleviate anxiety, co-authoring a paper that won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the International Conference on Emotion and Sensibility.
In addition to my research, I lead and participate in innovative projects, such as AKPN, which integrates vibrating sensors into library chairs to promote cognitive health during study sessions, and Quasar, a Quantum Computing project that demonstrated superior performance in classification tasks compared to classical models. As a GLASS Wellness Ambassador, I facilitate discussions on stress management and academic balance, fostering a supportive community at NYU Tandon.
Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for the opportunities to challenge myself and explore my interests at the intersection of technology, health, and well-being. I am eager to continue building on these experiences, embracing new challenges, and making meaningful contributions to the dynamic NYU community.
Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or reach out via email, I am always open to engaging in conversations!
GLASS has been nothing short of transformative for me. On a personal level, the GLASS program has empowered me to embrace challenges and pursue ambitious goals. It has equipped me with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to navigate the complexities of the modern world, both academically and personally. I am grateful for the opportunities it has presented and the lasting impact it continues to have on my educational and personal journey.
The major benefits of the GLASS program for me have been the invaluable mentoring and the meaningful connections I've formed with my peers. The GLASS community stands out as a pillar of support, always ready to lend a helping hand.
What I enjoyed most about the GLASS program were the community events that proved to be nothing short of impactful. Amidst the busyness and stress of academic life, these events provided a much-needed space for decompression. Memorable occasions such as the Lazer Tag event and Coffee and Tea with GLASS have been standout experiences, making my first semester with the program truly remarkable.
