IHFS is committed to fostering a global community of ambitious students passionate about finance and business. We aim to provide unparalleled opportunities for learning, collaboration, and professional growth through exclusive events, insightful guest lectures, and real-world investment challenges.
To establish IHFS as a premier student finance society recognized globally for its impactful events, thought leadership, and dedication to shaping the next generation of financial professionals.
The International Hedge Fund Society was established to create a dynamic platform for students passionate about finance, investments, and hedge funds. Founded by NYU Stern students, IHFS began as a student-led initiative at NYU London aiming to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world financial markets. Since its inception, IHFS has grown to become a community, offering members opportunities to connect with industry leaders, participate in investment competitions, and develop critical financial skills. Through workshops, guest speaker events, and collaborations with top finance societies, IHFS is the perfect opportunity for financial education and professional growth.
IHFS’s mission to connect the global NYU community has led to its expansion beyond its original roots at NYU London. We have established a presence at the NYU London, New York, and Shanghai campuses and are continuing to build branches at other NYU global sites. Further, we have created connections with universities such as The London School of Economics, reflecting the club's dedication to fostering an international perspective on finance and business.
The London chapter, launched in 2024, provides students studying abroad with access to the same high-quality resources, events, and networking opportunities as their peers in New York. Through collaborations with organizations like the LSE Hedge Fund Society and partnerships with industry professionals across Europe, the London chapter exemplifies IHFS’s global outlook and ambition.
Plans are underway to further extend SIHFS’s reach to other NYU campuses, ensuring all students have access to this enriching community, regardless of their location.
