SCOPE
General relativity is a fundamental pillar of modern physics that has successfully predicted and described numerous gravitational phenomena over the past century. Recent observations of gravitational waves and the first-ever image of a supermassive black hole have further elevated the theory's significance. Nonetheless, despite progress in string theory and holography, quantum aspects of gravity remain an unresolved challenge. To gain deeper insights into the structure of gravity, researchers are investigating extensions of general relativity that incorporate enhanced spacetime symmetry, motivated by string theory. The international workshop "GbRP 2025" held by Center for Quantum Spacetime (CQUeST) of Sogang University in Korea aims to bring together experts in quantum aspects of gravity beyond general relativity, exploring recent developments and exchanging ideas. The topics will include, but are not limited to, duality in gravitational theory, double field theory, Carrollian/Newton-Cartan gravity, holography, and higher derivative gravitational theory, shedding light on intrinsic features of string theory and extending the understanding of conventional spacetime geometry. The primary objective of this program is to bring together researchers specializing in these topics to facilitate the exchange of ideas, foster the development of new insights, and promote collaborative efforts.
