When you are reviewing presentations for an in-class or recorded presentation, here are some questions you can keep in mind. You do not need to answer all of them, since all projects are not the same.
What are the stated research or documentary aims of the project? If they are not stated explicitly on the site, you can read between the lines.
What are the sources of data used in the project? Are the data only spatial? Are the data shared and open?
How does the mapping environment express the spatial dimension of the data? How does the map allow complexity to be expressed?
How "readable" and clear is the map? How might the visualization or interaction be improved?
How are users encouraged to understand the data? Are they invited to contribute to it?
How much time/labor went into making this project? Again, it may not be explicitly stated, but can you guess?
What kind of a reaction do you have while interacting with this map and its data?
