NYU: Tandon, engineering: Study abroad This program is ideal for college sophomores and juniors who wish to spend a semester or an academic year living and learning in an exciting and culturally diverse location on six continents around the world.
The various sites offer specialized courses and quality academics from renowned faculty, guaranteed housing and a supportive full-time staff, cultural engagement, day trips and weekend excursions, as well as scholarships and financial aid.
Created uniquely for fourth semester Tandon students, beginning spring semester 2019 NYU London will host Tandon courses to meet the academic needs of many science and engineering students. You can choose from the courses listed below and complete your credit load by choosing classes that meet your Humanities and Social Science requirement. Many such courses in economics, English, public health, history, math, politics, and psychology are offered at NYU London. No language course is required.
NYU: Studying STEM abroad It’s the biggest open secret in college: for students in STEM, it’s nearly impossible to study abroad while staying on track with major requirements. But many of NYU’s global academic centers are helping students see the world, take courses in their major, and even conduct original research with renowned international scientists and scholars. Here are four cities that offer NYU courses for STEM majors:
A multidimensional Mediterranean city, Tel Aviv is the cultural, financial, and technological center of Israel. When you study abroad at NYU Tel Aviv, you will gain a sophisticated understanding of Israel and the Middle East. It is an ideal place to study not only politics and the Middle East but also emerging media and the sciences. Additionally, through the academic internship program, NYU Tel Aviv partners with an internship provider, allowing students to intern for course credit in many industries.
Princeton physics study abroad : Studying abroad is compatible with majoring in physics, but students need to plan carefully in order to be able to spend a semester or year abroad. One warning is that the study of physics is “sequential;” there is an order in which various courses must be completed. Hence, physics students need to satisfy various prerequisites before they can declare a physics major. It is also important to keep in mind that the most intense year for a physics major is the junior year, when physics students usually take two physics courses and a math course per semester, along with a junior paper each semester. The senior year is almost exclusively dedicated to independent research work, and it does not make sense to do that abroad, as a major part of the Princeton experience is to work with Princeton professors. Moreover, the senior year is when students apply to graduate schools or for jobs, so it is important for them to be in the country at this stage.
Berkeley: study physics abroad : The Physics Department encourages its students to broaden their educational experiences by studying abroad through the Berkeley Study Abroad (BSA) program. BSA provides students with the opportunity to study physics, while gaining an international perspective and expanding their academic horizons. College is an ideal time to take the opportunity to live abroad for a summer, a semester, or a year. In addition to developing your self-confidence, independence and perspectives, your international experience can benefit your career goals and/or graduate school opportunities.
