I am a born and bred New Yorker--cities run through my veins. As a teen, I took the D train to and from high school every day. Public transit was how I got around, and because I was born blind in my left eye, I also counted on it to be safe. Still, it wasn't until moving to Ann Arbor for college that I realized how much I had grown to rely on public transit. It was then that I began to develop an understanding of how important a reliable, accessible transit system can be for everyone, whether in or around a major city.
After college, I moved to Chicago, where I spent five years working for several law firms. My first taste of legal work was as a paralegal, before moving on to a role in Competitive Intelligence and Business Development. In 2019, I started getting involved with my local Alderman's office and working on transportation research, analyzing the effectiveness of different bus routes and making sure train stations in the Ward were safe and accessible. The power of public service became even more clear. I shifted my career and moved back to NYC to complete a Master's of Urban Planning at NYU Wagner.
Outside of my research, schoolwork and writing, I am a man of many passions. You can find me watching movies set in space (Interstellar is always the right choice), playing chess and fantasy baseball with friends (I am the 2019 GGCF Champion), walking in the city’s many parks, reading good books and articles, and trying to find the best fried chicken sandwich (still looking for recommendations!). Oh, and I’m forever a University of Michigan fanatic! #GoBlue
Please connect with me and ask me any questions you may have--I am an open book!
