Game Introduction
Emotion Runner is a 2D precision platformer in which the player navigates a dreamlike subconscious by switching emotional states that change movement physics. Instead of a traditional “jump” button, emotion modes (Anger, Sadness, Joy, Fear) alter jump height, friction, and time flow — forcing players to think emotionally as well as mechanically. The level teaches rhythm, patience, and timing and delivers a satisfying emotional arc: chaos → frustration → mastery.

Development Highlights
Core innovation: emotion switching mechanic that maps emotion to physics presets (gravity/velocity/friction/double-jump/time-scale).
Beginner-friendly prototype built in Unity 2D using Rigidbody2D / linearVelocity for movement control.
UI: toggleable Emotion Guide (press N) explaining each state, with in-game sprite swaps for clear feedback.
Level structure: incremental design that teaches mechanics (precision → double-jump → timed hazards).
Physical prototype: live filmed enactment of emotion modes to show mapping between body movement and game controls.
Accessibility & feedback: clear visual/audio signals when emotions switch; optional cooldown for switching.
