Hi, I’m Arliza (pronounced ar-LEE-zuh) - an operations recruiter, workplace wellness advocate, and organizational development practitioner with a deep love for human psychology and systems that work.
By day, I serve as an Operations Recruiter for a real estate company focused on low-income affordable housing. I’m not just hiring staff - I’m building the teams that shape whether a resident feels safe, respected, and cared for in their home. In a field shaped by public skepticism, systemic underfunding, and real human need, I treat every hire like it matters - because it does. A great hire can rebuild trust in a community. A poor one can make it worse. My job is to find people who are not just qualified, but grounded, compassionate, and ready to serve.
Before entering this industry, I worked in human resources for over a decade - supporting organizations through workforce transformation, internal communications, talent management, DEI strategy, and wellness initiatives. From nonprofit internships to global corporations, I’ve had a hand in projects that span operations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compliance, and culture change. Across every role, I’ve always asked: how do we help people feel seen, supported, and set up for success?
I earned my Master’s in Human Resource Management and Development from NYU, where I also served on the board of our SHRM student chapter. I also hold a certification in the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) - a psychometric tool that analyzes how we think, make decisions, and collaborate. I’m passionate about using assessments like these to help teams understand their strengths, uncover blind spots, and operate with emotional intelligence and empathy.
On a personal note, I care deeply about mental health, workplace wellness, and work-life balance. I believe a healthy employee is often a happy one - and that good benefits, clear boundaries, and supportive leaders can change someone’s life. You’ll often find me reflecting on how to build systems that feel human, not just efficient.
Outside of work, you’ll find me staying active, reading something insightful, or connecting with people I love.
Fun fact: I once pursued careers in both performing arts and medicine before finding my home in business and people operations. That path taught me that everything changes, but the work of becoming who you are is always worth doing.
A voiceover project I worked on.
