NYS TESOL Technology-enhanced language learning (TELL) SIG is happy to announce the co-hostship of VirtuaTELL 2025 conference, with the Center for Learning in the Digital Age (LiDA; pronounced as lee-dah) at the Warner School of Education, University of Rochester.
As digital technology continues to revolutionize the face of education, the Center for Learning in the Digital Age (LiDA) was established to support individuals and organizations harnessing the power of digital technologies in educational settings.
The LiDA Center aims to create a comprehensive and sustainable infrastructure that will help leverage expertise within Warner as well as our educational partners so as to:
Proactively identify new developments and educational opportunities in the rapidly and ever-changing technology landscape.
Coordinate and collaborate across various LiDA initiatives, uncovering possible synergies.
Effectively disseminate what we are learning in the LiDA community so as to achieve greater impact on practice.
Develop internal capacity to provide needed services related to LiDA for Warner, the University of Rochester, and the region.
Attract external funding to support worthwhile LiDA projects and initiatives.
Starting as a sponsor of NYS TESOL’s Annual Applied Linguistics Winter Conference (ALWC) 2020, which was held at Warner School of Education, University of Rochester. LiDA center has been in close collaboration with NYS TESOL. Previous and current LiDA affiliated faculty in TESOL/AL fields have been actively involved in events of NYS TESOL. LiDA center also supports the conference participation among the graduate students in a relevant realm.
