About

ABOUT TeLL

The use of technology in the classroom has become indispensable in the ESL classroom. Many teachers every year are trained to use various tech tools such as smart boards, Learning management systems, mobile learning, test authoring tools, online websites and many others. Although some interest groups host events that are dedicated to Technology such as Tech in Ten, there’s a dire need to launch a new interest section that broadly caters for the needs of all the stakeholders who are involved in the field of ESL. The new sig will be a learning hub for Tech and TESOL practitioners to work on the latest teaching methods and theories in ESL and the relevant Instructional Technology that best delivers effective, efficient, safe, learnable and memorable experience. The goals of the new SIG will be as follows: To promote the integration of technology while using the TESOL pedagogy To educate TESOL practitioners on ways to use technology to improve language learning To share knowledge about best instructional practices that make use of technology in the ESL Classroom To help support innovative teaching methods using Tech tools To enable teachers, educators, students and all stakeholders to keep abreast with the educational technology used in language learning such as mobile learning, gaming, gamification, Virtual reality, Augmented reality and Mixed reality To gather and evaluate resources to help TESOL practitioners and ESL students to understand the challenges and opportunities in the field. To share our knowledge, experience, and expertise in order to better understand and utilize technology
