As mentioned in the mission statement we are here for not only betterment of IM as a future physician but also for the advocacy for our future patients. Some of the events we have don are we have asked GI doctors and Cardiologists to come and speak about their experience in the fields as well as how they paved their way into such lucrative fields starting from med school. We also have recently called our own advisor for SOIMA Dr. Eleanor Yusupov to come and talk to the students about IM, how to do better in rotations/clerckship and what would be the process to get into IM residency and taking a step further into most common IM subspecialty during fellowship. The common theme of most of the talks we had is based on the residency spots and how a med student should work their way to get in. Some of the future events we have planned are collaborate with other organizations for Children Hospital Holiday Letter Program as well as donation proceedings for Movember and St. Bradricks.
