The purpose of SIGN is to provide medical students with various opportunities to learn about the field of neurology as well as further develop their neurological knowledge. Additionally, SIGN will organize different events which expose medical students to the field of neurology including, but not limited to: neurologist guest speakers, community fundraisers, board review game night, and neurology residency panel discussions.
SIGN hosts virtual and on-campus events throughout the academic year related to different aspects of the field of neurology. In the past, we have co-sponsored the American Parkinson Disease Association Optimism Walk, hosted a Concussion Workshop geared towards learning how OMM can be utilized to treat concussions, and have even sent organization members to attend the New York State Neurological Society Annual Winter Meeting. Upcoming SIGN events include Neurology Jeopardy, speaker events discussing the subspecialties of pediatric neurology and vascular neurology, and a "mini med-school" event with local high school students. If you love neurology or even just the brain, then looks like you need to "sign" up for SIGN!
