The student chapter of American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery (AOCOO-HNS) at NYITCOM was formally established in 2019. Also commonly referred to as the "Ophtho and ENT Organization", we serve as a platform for the NYITCOM medical students to get involved in the fields of ophthalmology and otolaryngology – head and neck surgery as early as during their pre-clinical education. The organization plans events to provide students early clinical exposure and research opportunities in these competitive specialties while promoting ocular and aural health among the regional communities. We also serve as a liaison between the students, faculty, residents, attending physicians and the national organization.

Mission Statement:
To maintain and promote the highest moral and ethical standards in the practice of ophthalmology and otolaryngology – head and neck surgery.
To develop the application of osteopathic concepts in the fields of ophthalmology and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.
