"You and everybody involved in the Co-op program have greatly progressed my professional career, allowing me to gain real-world experience that I would not have had without your help. The experience helped me realize many important things about my career; what I know, what I didn't know and what I need to learn to be successful. I met many great people and got a chance to network with real professionals in my field of interest. You and the Co-op program are really doing great things for students and I wish all NYIT students got to have an opportunity to go through the program. " Francesco D , CoECS Co-op Student.
Co-op (Cooperative Education) Programs at the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, New York Tech
Co-op, or cooperative education, is an experiential education program that College of Engineering and Computing Science students can participate in by alternating a period of academic study in the classroom with full-time co-op employment in positions directly related to their academic and/or career interests. This combination of university study and full-time employment during junior or senior year provides an integrated learning experience shown to enhance a student's academic experience and career development.
In partnership with our network of industry and business organizations, New York Tech’s co-op students can prepare for the culture and conduct required to be productive in the professional work environment, learn about and engage in successful job search practices, gain invaluable on-the-job experience in their fields of study, and earn income while employed in their co-op positions.
Starting fall 2023, the following undergraduate (B.S.) programs will offer the co-op option to qualified students:
