NOTE:  Please plan what you will bring with you into the Crest Hollow Country Club.  The Emerald Room will be unavailable once students process for the ceremony.  There is no security therefore no items can be left in that room.  In addition, once you are coated you may not return to your same seat, so please do not leave any items on the chair in the Ballroom.

Arrival Time: 

Students must arrive at the Crest Hollow Country Club and report to the Emerald Room at 3:30 p.m. sharp. If your guests do not arrive with you, please be sure they arrive at the Crest Hollow Country Club no later than 4:30 p.m. * Please give your guests their entry wristbands prior to arriving at the venue. Guests will not be admitted without a guest wristband. Anticipated time for opening of guest seating is 3:45 p.m.

Ceremony Timing & Lite Fare Reception Hour: The White Coat Ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. and conclude at approximately 6:30 p.m. A Lite Fare Reception Hour will immediately follow the White Coat Ceremony from approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. During the ceremony, Student Physicians will be coated by one of our alumni or faculty members.

Five dining rooms will be used for the Lite Fare Reception Hour, three on the second floor and two on the main floor of the venue. Each student and his/her guests will be assigned to a specific dining room. Assigned Dining Room Signs will be posted at the venue, and staff will be present to assist guests to assigned dining rooms.

Guest Entry Wristbands: Each student will be issued two (2) yellow guest wristbands, for entry to the venue. Only guests with a yellow wristband will be permitted to attend the White Coat Ceremony event.

You received these wristbands during the Orientation Program. Please do not lose them.

** Your guests are required to wear a YELLOW entry wristband for admittance to the White Coat Ceremony and Lite Fare Reception Hour. Please provide your guests with their guest wristbands prior to the ceremony. After the ceremony concludes, you and your guests will go to the same dining room for the Lite Fare Reception Hour.

 Coating Instructions 

Students will be directed by the staff to proceed to the stage. 

1. Students will approach stairs, hand name announcement card to the staff member by the stage, and proceed up the stairs to the stage as their name is announced. 

2. Student walks across the stage and presents coat to alumni/faculty member, student turns to face the audience, and is coated. NOTE: A professional photograph will be taken of you as you are coated. Please do not stop and pose on stage at this time. A posed photograph will be taken of you behind stage, after you have been coated. 

3. Student proceeds off the stage and around the back of the stage to the photo booth area. After the student’s photo is taken they will proceed back to their seat. 

Please Note: Face Masks are Required for all Attendees at the NYITCOM White Coat Ceremony.

To promote the safety and well-being of all guests, ALL White Coat Ceremony Attendees are required to wear a face mask (fully covering both the nose and mouth) at all times during our program except - while eating or drinking for brief periods, when the student walks across the stage to be coated, and when the student poses for the official student photo with Island Photography immediately after being coated. At all other times during the event program, face masks are required to be worn by all Attendees. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
