Welcome to Nanyang Modern Dance (NYMD)! If you have a passion for dance, this is the right CCA for you! No dance background? Fret not. With the right attitude and commitment to the craft, you can learn to dance in no time!

ABOUT US

At NYMD, we are exposed to different dance genres, and participate in various performances. Dance Night is our biennial student production. We get to try everything from choreographing, costume sourcing, lighting designing, stage flow planning, publicity to directing. The Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) is a national platform to showcase our dance performance. We are also involved in many other school-wide events, such as CNY celebrations, Secondary One Orientation (SOO) concert, as well as public events like the SYF Festival concert.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTOR

We are proud to have an NYGH alumnus, Ms Stephanie Loh as our dance instructor. Ms Step has been dancing for over 30 years. She is also the founder and artistic director of STEP Studio. Ms Step is a versatile dance teacher, who is experienced in many dance styles, including contemporary dance, lyrical, ballet, chinese dance, street jazz as well as hip hop.

Joining NYMD will help you grow both as a dancer and as a person, as you hone technical skills and build life skills with every practice and performance. It is more than just a CCA, we are a big, warm family of dancers, and the bonds that we have with each other are strong and long-lasting.

Training Frequency

CCA Days: Mondays and Fridays

Time: 3.45pm to 6.15pm

Venue: MPH 

Note: Students with 3rd language classes or external commitments (eg. tuition) on Mondays and Fridays will need to make changes to their schedule to accommodate trainings. Additionally, students should not take MSP as 3rd language.
