Provide opportunities for parents to network and support each other in the parenting journey
As a first time NYGH parent five years ago, I still remember the immediate sense of warmth I felt when I first stepped into the school. A large part of this was due to the school’s strong collaborative culture and the welcoming demeanour of the PSG. Parents were warmly invited to join the PSG, and the team consistently went above and beyond to engage parents and help everyone feel like part of a bigger community. This inclusive spirit was what drew me to join the PSG committee when my second daughter also chose to study at NYGH.
When our 校长 (Principal) lovingly refers to the students as her daughters, and calls the school their 娘家 during the Secondary 4 graduation, it beautifully captures what NYGH represents. It has truly become a home away from home for my daughters.
Having served on the PSG committee for the past few years, I’ve also come to appreciate how the school actively empowers parents to partner them in making school life more fun, meaningful, and enriching for the girls. It has been a joy to take on a more active role through the PSG, and to journey closely alongside my daughters during these formative teenage years.
We look forward to warmly welcoming you to the NYGH PSG, and your daughter to the school. You won’t regret it!
Do come by the PSG booth during Open House. We look forward to seeing you!
Warm regards,

Hear from both parents and students as they share their experiences and thoughts about being part of our NYGH PSG community.

Before I knew it, I have spent three years as a parent volunteer at Nanyang Girls’ High School, and this year will mark the final chapter of this journey. Looking back, my heart is filled with memories I will always cherish. On the surface, it may seem that I gave my time and energy in service to the school; yet along the way, I came to realize that what I gained far outweighed what I gave.
Through being a parent volunteer, my daughter and I shared many moments walking side by side, chatting and laughing together, with our conversations naturally extending into everyday life. I also met a group of like-minded parents during various school activities—people who share the same passion and walk this path with love. From these encounters, precious friendships were formed.
Among all these experiences, the one that left the deepest impression on me was my involvement in the Foster Family programme. Through this initiative, I witnessed perseverance, resilience, and courage in the girls. Interacting with them made me feel younger and more energized. Even more wonderfully, my daughter gained two “younger god-sisters,” bringing more love, laughter, and warmth into our family.
In giving, I encountered love; and through love, I found growth. I firmly believe that love can overcome all difficulties, flowing quietly from one person to another and touching lives along the way. May we continue to pass this love on and lead by example for our children—giving back to society, learning to care, and offering a helping hand in our everyday lives. I warmly invite you to join our parent volunteer team."

The Structured Supervised Study Program is a wonderful initiative that gives selected students extra learning support beyond the classroom. PSG proudly supports this program by preparing delicious, energizing snacks because a well-fed mind learns better! It’s our small way of encouraging students, boosting their focus, and showing them that we’re cheering them on every step of the way.
The NYGH Foster Family Programme warmly welcomes overseas scholars by pairing them with caring NYGH families, helping them feel at home even while far from their own. Through these shared moments, lasting friendships are formed, hearts are opened, and love quietly grows. One foster mum beautifully shared how giving brought her family more joy, resilience, and warmth than she ever imagined. We warmly invite you to join us and be part of this meaningful journey of love, care, and connection.

The PSG Coffee Mornings bring parents together for a meaningful and enjoyable morning at school. This year, students enjoyed sampling treats they don’t usually get to try - such as ketupat with serunding, crispy tumpi, and refreshing air kathira - making it a joyful celebration of culture and flavour.
To foster cultural awareness and appreciation, the PSG organized a Deepavali experience for students. The event gave them the opportunity to enjoy a variety of Indian delicacies such as dum biryani, papadum, and masala chai, as well as experience traditional henna art. Through this meaningful experience, students celebrated alongside friends who observe Deepavali and deepened their understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.
The PSG added to the festive spirit of the school carnival by setting up a lively mix of food stalls, game booths, and craft stalls. The initiative was warmly received by both teachers and students, bringing extra colour, energy, and fun to the celebration.
