What is a field recording? Field recording is using portable recorders eg a microphone, a phone or, laptop to gather sounds from outside.
At the back of the farm, on the city street or, onboard the fishing boat; these recordings capture the activity and ‘feel’ of everyday life.

What is Sampling? Sampling means reusing a portion of a sound recording (the sample) in a brand new recording. This sound can be a portion of an existing song, a random noise you hear on your commute or even everyday objects.
