The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology traces its beginnings to the offering of Associate Surveying under the Engineering Department. Its growth continued with the introduction of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, which received government recognition on July 1, 1963. Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering followed in 1971 and 1973, respectively.
In 1967, vocational programs in automotive-diesel mechanics, refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanics, and radio receiver servicing were also offered under the College of Engineering.
Responding to changing technological demands, the College introduced Electronics and Communications Engineering and Computer Engineering in 1993, followed by Geodetic Engineering and Architecture in 1997. It also achieved accreditation milestones in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering, becoming the first educational institution in Region I to attain Level II accreditation for these programs in 1994.
