Principal's Note:
Tis the season of giving and I want to say THANK YOU for the amount of giving our staff, students, and community has done this holiday season. First, our students and teachers helped organize a Canned Food Drive before Thanksgiving. Our 7th Grade students ended up winning this years canned food challenge.
Recently, Student Council members led by Mrs. Graves participated in wrapping Christmas gifts for those less fortunate. It was our 2nd year of participation in this event and we hope to grow our participation next year.
Currently, we are sponsoring an Angel Tree in the front office. Mrs. Demoret and Mrs. Bowen help organize and sponsor our Angel tree program and each year the residences at 'The Brickyard' nursing facility are very thankful to receive your generous donations.
Our furry friends at Kokomo Humane Society need support and we're continuing our annual tradition of collecting for them as well. The wish-list is attached to this newsletter.
Additionally, we're trying to help remind students that a gift isn't always something of monetary value. It can be a quick note of thanks, a kind gesture, or even giving some of your time. Hopefully we inspire the next Bella VanNatter to help make our world a better place. (Click for More)
The Holiday season is also a reminder that winter weather is upon us and to please review the Distance Learning expectations linked at the top of every newsletter we send.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Mr. Bishir
Message from Assistant Principal Mr. Ward:
Happy Holidays,
Perhaps my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving especially the tradition of celebrating what you're thankful for each year . The food isn't bad either! One of my favorite Thanksgiving stories is Balloons Over Broadway. It's the true story of the Macy's Thankgiving Parade. The tradition was to have live animals each year, but eventually the parade became so popular the kids couldn't see the animals through the crowd. Therefore, they adapted and the animals became floats for all to see! Traditions like NW's "Tradition of Excellence" doesn't mean we always do the same thing, but instead we must adapt to meet current and future challenges. I'm thankful to get to work with such and excellent community.

World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser was a success. Every student who sold 1 box received a pizza party and students who sold more earned prizes.
This supports our prizes for positive behaviors at school and our end of the year field day.

The holidays aren't always fun and festive for everyone due to a variety of reasons and that's okay. That doesn't make them a Grinch. They may be dealing with more than you know.
Know that you're not alone. Many feel this way and here is a helpful article to help you with some strategies to manage holiday stress.
Please keep Mr. Brett Davis and family in your thoughts and prayers. His wife Jenni passed away during Thanksgiving Break.
