Distance Vs. E-Learning
In the event school is closed for Severe Weather Days etc.. Northwestern will utilize our distance learning schedule. It would be beneficial for you to know the difference:
Distance Learning: Teachers offer live instruction following a special schedule. Students join via google meets, and attendance is mandatory. In the event your child cannot join due to illness or technology issues such as 'no internet' you must call the school each day they are absent. Not being present "online" will count as an absence to school. Distance Learning is our first and most desired option in the event school is closed.
E-Learning: In the event we cannot offer live instruction (example: Teachers cannot come to school) assignments will be posted online for students to complete. Attendance is based on students showing evidence they attempted the work. The State of Indiana only allows school districts three of these days a year unless special circumstances arise.
