i grew up in a town called new Hartford i have lived there my entire.. life i live with my dad and my sister. i like hanging out with my boyfriend and my golden retriever and cat. i also work at tractor supply witch enjoy doing vary much when it comes to favorite type of journalism i favor tords hard news.

Aiden Avenia

My name is Aiden Avenia and I am in my Junior year of high school. Ive been living in New Hartford, Connecticut all my life and I enjoy the seasons that Connecticut brings me. My interests for my future is playing football in college or joining the Coast Guard. My hobbies include, going to the gym, hanging with my friends, and collecting ancient coins. I am part of a family of six with one brother, two sisters. I also have two dogs, and two cats. My favorite type of writing in journalism is opinion, because I like to speak about whats on my mind.

Julia Busemeyer

My name is Julia Busemeyer, I'm a senior in high school, and I grew up in New Hartford. I love playing bass, painting, and writing, but my biggest passion is space and astronomy, which is certainly reflected in my writing. Next year I'll be attending SUNY Oneonta for Earth science education and astronomy, but I do plan to keep writing. My favorite type of news to write is probably entertainment, but I also enjoyed opinion writing.

Launa Cook

I'm Launa Cook and I'm a senior at Northwestern Regional 7 High school. I'm 18 and grew up in Torrington,CT. Some hobbies of mine are writing, soccer, horseback riding, politics, singing and acting. I am attending Goodwin University during the summer of 2023 and their fall semester. I enjoy writing mostly opinion peices and argumentive writing.

Elle Crociata

Elle Crociata, Grade 10

I grew up in New Hartford, and went to Bakerville Elementary and Anne Antolini before I came to Northwestern Middle and High school. I am an avid reader and enjoy all sorts of book genres, but especially enjoy Romance and Thriller. I also ride horses competitively and have been since I was 11. I even work at a local barn teaching lessons and doing barn chores. Knitting is another of my favorite hobbies, and while not all of my projects come out well, its always fun and relaxing for me. I have a lot of pets, including a dog, three cats, a few fish, and two dumbo rats. My favorite style of journalistic writing is definitely entertainment. its super fun to be able to pick whatever exciting topic I want and write an entertaining and enjoyable piece that can make peoples days a little bit brighter.

Lily Dwan

My name is Lily Dwan, and I am in twelveth grade at Northwestern Region Seven. I mostly grew up in New Hartford, but I have lived in other places when I was younger such as Florida and Winsted. While I don't have many hobbies, I love doing anything outside and enjoying nature. This includes hikes, walks, going to the beach, riding bikes, playing on the swings, etc. I like to spend my time with my boyfriend, Zack, and my best friend Emma. I always do so much fun activities with them and we are always able to keep ourselves entertained. While I like to spend my time outside, I also appreciate cozy rainy days inside. When Im not hanging out with Zack and Emma, I keep myself busy by working at Five Guys and Low N Slow. My other best friend is my cat, Coco. I have had her since I was ten, and she never fails to cheer me up with her cute face and chunky rolls. I live with my Mom, my Stepdad, and my two sisters. At my Dad's house, I visit my Dad, Stepmom, sister and stepbrother. My favorite writing in journalism is opinion because I like being able to choose what I write about.

Ella Gannon

My name is Ella and I am a sophomore at NWR7 High School. I have lived in Barkhamsted since I was two, and I love where I live. Writing is my most favorite thing to do, and since March I have been freelancing for a local newspaper: The Winsted Citizen! Freelancing and taking Journalism class has helped me grow my writing skills and my interest. I am in high school concert choir, and I also take dance. Two jazz classes and one hip hop class. I live with my mom and my dad, my little sister Lilah and my cockapoo Macy. My favorite style of writing would probably be either entertainment or personal profile. I like writing about movies and music, but learning how to write a profile has been very helpful in learning how to interview multiple people, and how to properly conduct an interview (even if it makes me nervous!). My hope is to continue to gain writing experience, and hopefully have a career involving writing sometime after high school!

My name is Keira Mann. I am a freshman at Northwestern High School, and I am 14 years old. I have many hobbies, and always enjoy learning. Some of my current interests are, the Bolshevik revolution, Melodic Punk Rock, Ralph Emerson, soccer, and Geezer Butlers bass guitar style. My favorite type of writing in journalism is Opinion. This is because, I am very opinionated. I have had fun writing in journalism class!

My name is Miranda Carl and I'm in 12th grade. I grew up in Barkhamsted, CT. My personal interests are sports and horses. I enjoy barrel racing and hanging out with my friends. I have a lot of pets (horses, chickens, dogs) and I live with my family (my dad and siblings). My favorite type of writing is opinion.
