Welcome! This year we will be learning about the following topics

Place Value - adding, subtracting up to a MILLION, digits are a base-10 system (x10), rounding within the number

Algebra- using unknowns to solve basic algebraic equations

Multiplication- breaking apart factor all the way to multiplication of 2 by 2 digits (78 x 39)

Division- understanding remainders and learning partial quotient using a 1 digit divisor upto to a four digit dividend ( 8,352 divided by 7)

Fractions- adding/subtracting and multiplying fractions (4 x 5/8). Lots of modeling in this unit

Geometry- types of angles and measuring angles and geometry terms (parallel, perpendicular, lines, segments)

Measurement and Data- plots lines and data graphs
