I, Miss Albert, am so excited to be your English/Social Studies teacher this year! I will have some of you twice a day rather than once if you have me for Social Studies too. This is my fifth year as a teacher at Northwestern Lehigh Middle School. Prior to coming here, I worked at Southern Lehigh High School as a special education teacher for one year.
I earned my teaching certification & my master's in May 2020 from Lehigh University. My certifications include: 7-12 English, All subjects grades 4-6, Social Studies 7-8, & Special Education K-12. While earning my master's, I worked at Centennial School of Lehigh University, a school in Bethlehem, Pa which services students with emotional and behavioral disorders. As a teacher associate at Centennial, I learned effective teaching practices both in the instructional and classroom management realms.
My bachelor's degree is actually in Journalism. I graduated in May 2018 from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. I had a huge career swap! During my time at Rowan, I interned at lehighvalleylive.com and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing board games (especially Catan), yoga, am a part of a community choir, love to read fiction novels & try new restaurants and foods. I also own two adorable cats (pictured below) whose names are Red Guy & Blue Guy. I'm very close to my family and enjoy spending time with them!
