Families and individuals receiving government assistance can receive a free refurbished computer, typically desktops and based on availabilty. We also assist with connecting recipients to income-based internet service and provide free digital skills workshops and resources.
NWLA Makerspace is bridging the digital divide through our 318 Digital Initiative. Our signature program within this effort is our computer recycling program. We are helping to fight climate and secure environmental justice by keeping computers from ending up in landfills and the hazardous contents from entering our air and water.
Through this program, families and individuals receiving government assistance can pickup a free refurbished computer, typically desktops (depending on availability). Computers typically come with Windows or Linux, Open Office and Gimp.
