I have been many things in my life. I have been a sister, a daughter, a band kid, a choir kid, an actor, a stage manager, and most recently, a teacher.
In all of these things, what brought me the most joy has been hearing and telling stories.
My two greatest passions are creating theatre art and nurturing students' potential.
I have been blessed with a vibrant theatre background, observing the ins and outs of not only performance, but technical elements as well. I have been involved in over 20 theatrical productions in my lifetime and I am constantly learning new things. Education has always been a path I envisioned for myself; meeting the needs of students, wherever they may be.
I am fortunate to have discovered a way to combine these two - a position where I am able to cultivate creativity and confidence in students.
I have multiple answers for this one. I've had many hometowns in Iowa and Michigan and back again. Through these transitions, performance has been a major constant. My role models have been my drama teachers and directors, encouraging me to follow my dreams and step out of my comfort zone, and my hope is to follow in their footsteps.
I graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Education, English Teaching, and Secondary Education in December 2022. Currently, I hold secondary education licensure in English, Speech, and Drama. Academically, my favorite task is analyzing and writing about literature and I'm learning more and more about theatrical design every day.
