About me

Teaching is not just my career, it's my passion. I love learning new things right along with you. 

I started teaching in 2002 in the Plain Local school district as an Intervention Specialist. I came back to my alma mater in 2003 as a Title One Tutor. In 2010, I was blessed with my first 5th grade classroom teaching ELA & Science. I am also our elementary grades 3-5 LEAD Science teacher. I love collaborating with teachers from other schools and learning about different curriculum, communities and ways of thinking then sharing ideas with my colleagues.

My Middle Childhood Education degree (grades 4-9) came from MOUNT UNION in 2002 along with a minor in Sociology. Eight years later, I earned my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Akron. I am (twice) Google Certified. 

My husband, Kevin, is also a teacher in the Tuslaw Local School District but coaches the Varsity Girls basketball team here at Northwest. We have three children; Bayleigh (NW alum '22), Kendall, and Trey. We are also proud owners of our two Doodles, Moana & Pepper.  

Many of my friends & family members are also blessed to be educators. It's one of the most rewarding (& challenging) careers to have. We get to work closely with young people and their parents/guardians inspiring and motivating them to reach their fullest potential. 

Along with my love for education, I enjoy sports, listening to music, traveling to the beach, national parks, reading different genres of books, scouring the internet, and shopping. My kids think I take too many pictures, but you can be the judge of that. 

Northwest has a special place in my heart. I believe we have a wonderful community filled with tradition, integrity, and hard working people. My hope is that we will continue to work together to keep this district strong, unified, and thriving for all who pass through.
