Somewhere in the United States of America, a small town perhaps, or maybe a great city, there lives a women named Marge Peterson. She is not famous or, for that matter, remarkable in any way. She is what you would call your average American. Your task is to determine where this American life happens. After careful analysis and exhaustive research you must be able to state the name of the city, county and state where Marge Peterson lives. To accomplish this task you will need to listen to a series of 5 telephone conversations. In addition to the phone conversations you will be able to use a weather map that corresponds to each day's phone call. Each phone conversation can be listened to in your browser.
You are then free to access and use any other resource that you can get your hands on to solve this riddle.
Directions for completing this assignment:
Start by making a copy of the assignment sheet/write-up on your drive and naming it: LastFirstMarge (Last is your last name, First is your first name). Listen carefully to each day's conversation. As you listen, write any clues or evidence on the left hand side of the box for that day (3 minimum each day, some of these must be weather). After you have heard the day's call, write down at least 3 conclusions that you can develop based on what you heard. After the fifth day write your conclusion in the space provided, that is the name of the city, the county, and the state where Marge lives. Finally, write several excellent paragraphs addressing the questions posed on the assignment sheet. And remember, spelling counts!
After you have done this then share your completed assignment sheet with Mr. Dresel. Once you have done this, e-mail Mr. Dresel and ask for the final phone conversation. He will then reply to your message with the last day's conversation attached so you can hear the answer. Credit for this assignment will only be given to students who send this e-mail request.
