NVSIDE Technology Conference Oct. 18, 2025!
Kaitlynn Cooper is an experienced educator in Reno, primarily working at the high school level. She’s taught English Language Learners, Theatre, and Leadership with a current focus on teaching English. Kaitlynn is working on a masters in English through the Bread Loaf School of English. Her school district, Washoe County, is a Microsoft district, so she spends a great deal of time working in TEAMs and OneNote. Outside of school, she has four cats and works as the company manager for a local theatre company.
Jason Smith brings his experience to the classroom in Las Vegas, NV. He demonstrates his expertise by seamlessly integrating technology into the curriculum through innovative projects. Jason played a key role in starting a school video production program where students are learning invaluable lessons. He was honored as the Technology Innovator of the Year by Nevada Society of Innovators and Digital Educators (NVSIDE) as well as the distinguished title of Teacher of the Month (February 2023) by KSNV (News 3 Las Vegas). Jason holds a B.A. in Communications and a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from the esteemed University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Jason also serves as a dedicated Varsity football coach at Desert Oasis HS, exemplifying his commitment to fostering holistic student development within the Las Vegas community.
Heidi Carr is the ultimate professional example for our teachers, parents, students, and community. She is an educator, leader as well as an inspiring administrator with the Clark County School District which is the fifth largest school district in the United States. Heidi is currently on the board for NVSIDE (formerly known as CUE-NV), has organized a PLAYDATE Vegas as well as the founder of EduNV on Voxer. She also was the Affiliate Leader of the Year for 2019.
Heidi is an innovator, risk-taker and is always willing to go the extra mile to meet her student’s needs. Heidi is dedicated to her students and school. She believes that all students should have their own individualized plan. She is an advocate for all students and has a passion working with inner-city children. Heidi has collaborated with Nevada State College and Las Vegas Housing Authority where she ran after-school and summer programs in Sherman Gardens and Ernie Cragin Public Housing Complexes.
She grew up in Northern Nevada and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Nevada State College and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from University Las Vegas Nevada.
