WHAT TO EXPECT AT REHEARSAL?
Each week you will receive an email with a weekly call. Each day will be listed out like the example below:
DATE:
Monday, Feb 23
2:45-5:30
AGENDA:
Run scenes 1.0-1.8
CALLED:
FULL Cast & Crew
At these rehearsals, the crew will have various jobs based on your specific title. While one team is working on the set moves and transitions, the props team may be working on creating, painting, or building props. This will be while the hair and makeup crew is planning quick changes. All of these pieces will come together as we add tech elements bit by bit.
Your directors’ expectations are that you’ll use rehearsal time wisely. There will be many times when you are not immediately needed as we work through other scenes or projects. During that time, you’ll be able to get homework done or help another team with a task.
SKILLS YOU WILL GAIN:
Organization
Professionalism
Time Management
Building
Painting
Technology
Special Effects
Friendship!
Teamwork
Problem-Solving
TOOLS TO PREPARE:
Know the show! Watch/Listen to Mean Girls on youtube and or spotify and, especially for crew, watch various youtube or movie versions to see different concepts/moves.
Get things in order with your classwork, jobs, and family calendar. You will get SO much out of this experience regardless, but if you stay ahead of your schedule and classwork, it will be that much easier for you to really dig into this creative process!
