Policies / Procedures during the Hybrid/Virtual 2020-2021 School Year
Students in Cohorts X and Y are expected to report to class on their designated Cohort Day.
Parents/Guardians should contact the attendance office (@ NVD Ms. Jeffs - Jeffs@nvnet.org; @ NVOT Ms. Solazzo - Solazzo@nvnet.org) in the event that their child is unable to attend school in-person during a scheduled in-person day.
Students that are unable to attend in person, but able to attend remotely should participate in class remotely.
Students that are not present in class (virtually or in-person) will be marked Absent.
For 90-minute classes, students who are more than 30 minutes late, will be marked absent and this will be considered a class cut.
For E-day, 40-minute periods, students who are more than 10 minutes late will be marked absent and a class cut will be registered.
Parents should continue to report all absences (for virtual and in-person students) to the main office daily by calling or emailing attendance between 7:45 – 9:00 A.M. and stating the reason for the absence.
Students are required to wear a properly fitted face covering (a face covering that covers both their nose and mouth) while on school campus or participating in in-person school activities.
A student’s refusal to wear a mask who does not have an approved medical exemption or accommodation, may result in disciplinary action, including possibly being required to participate in fully remote learning.
During unscheduled periods, students are encouraged to not be in the building.
If students do not have class and are unable to go home, they may report to the cafeteria, the designated “free period” space in the building.
Students will not be permitted to report to the Guidance Office or Main Office without an appointment.
Every morning before leaving home, students will complete a health and wellness survey. The completion screen is the individual’s ticket into the building.
Each student and staff will report to their assigned entrances for a screening check and temperature check.
Temperature screenings will be completed upon entering the building every morning. Students and staff with temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit will be sent to the isolation room and/or home.
When students leave a class during the period (to go to the bathroom, refill water bottle, go to the guidance office), they are required to complete a sign out form to note their departure time, destination, and return time.
Bathrooms are labeled with maximum occupancy. Students should be mindful of not exceeding maximum occupancy in bathrooms or congregating in hallways/common areas.
Desks are labeled for students by class period and teachers will have a seating chart. Students are expected to only touch their assigned desk.
Contact the Tech Department via helpdesk@nvnet.org to schedule an appointment or to ask for assistance.
Students are not permitted to visit tech offices without a scheduled appointment
When possible, hallways will be marked with one way directional arrows. Students will be expected to adhere to traffic flow patterns in the hallway. Additional passing time has been built into the schedule to allow everyone sufficient time to get to their classes.
