Concert attire

Like all performance groups, our choir has a “uniform.” This uniform is the same at all schools in the area and will prepare your child for any music ensemble they may choose to continue in at the high school level.

Your child’s attire for the concert will be as follows:

🎵 Black dress pants (or skirts), no jeans, leggings or athletic/workout pants.

🎵 White dress shirt (collared shirt) or blouse. No logos or colors/decorations.

🎵 Black dress shoes. No sneakers (even sneakers that are styled to look like dress shoes).

🎵 Students will wear a tie in a color and style of their choice.

Please note that all attire must comply with the school dress code.

Please take the opportunity to start collecting these items now.

Lastly, the reason why we wear black and white Is explained below, adapted from the website, classicfm.com:

"Orchestral musicians and professional choral singers wear black and white because the audience wants to pay attention to the music – not them. Many classical music lovers believe that there should be absolutely nothing to distract from the music, not even the performers themselves."
