Referendum gives voters a voice in district’s future path
Vote: Tuesday, March 8
Feb. 15: Deadline for voter registration/address change
March 1: Vote By Mail applications due
March 8: Vote By Mail ballots postmarked
March 8: Polls open 6 am – 8 pm, Haworth Public School Gym
Update your voter registration before Feb. 15 so you can have a say in the bond referendum and all other upcoming elections. The state maintains an updated database of registered voters. If you are not sure if you’re registered to vote at your current address, search the state database by your name and birthdate. Voter registration is also available online for voters who are new to the process or voters who have changed addresses or names.
Polls will be open at Haworth Public School Gym from 6 am - 8 pm on March 8. If you show up to vote in person and are told that a ballot was mailed to you, ask for a “provisional ballot.” Those ballots are counted after mailed ballots, as names are cross-checked to protect election integrity
If you applied to Vote By Mail in all NJ elections, and your address is still the same, you should receive a Vote By Mail ballot automatically.
If you are not registered for Vote By Mail, but wish to be, you can submit an application. The forms must be RECEIVED by the county a week ahead of the election date for a ballot to be mailed to you. Leaving more advance time is advisable as a safeguard against postal delays. Be sure to closely follow all of the directions on that ballot. Ballots that are not correctly prepared will be discarded and not counted.
Vote By Mail ballots must be postmarked by the date of the election. Voters can track their mailed ballots to ensure they were counted. Start by creating an account with the state's Voter Registration System.
