All Things 8th Grade

Overview

Throughout the 2021-2022 school year this website (In addition to the "All Things 8th Grade" Google Classroom for student access) will be used to communicate Information specific to the 8th grade class, Including the Items below:

1. Community Service: 8th graders are required to complete 10 hours of community service. While 10 hours Is the minimum requirement, we always encourage more! Information will be posted on the Google Classroom as well as here on the "Community Service" tab.

*Note: All community service opportunities within school and school-related functions will be communicated directly to students. All information for opportunities that take place outside of school will be communicated directly to parent(s)/guardian(s).

2. High School Scheduling: The high school scheduling process has already begun! 8th graders visited NVD in October to sample the elective courses that will be offered to them as 9th graders! Students who are applying to alternative high schools are beginning to submit transcript request forms and teacher recommendation forms. Criteria for high school course placement will be coming out soon (end of December/January).

3. Yearbook: As 8th graders, the yearbook is designed for the 8th grade class, by the 8th grade class. A Yearbook Interest meeting will be held on December 3rd. The yearbook Is a great way to get Involved Into creating a keepsake of Haworth memories to treasure forever.
