School Year 2021-22

Dear West Career and Technical Academy Student and Parent/Guardian:

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at the West Career and Technical Academy. We are very excited to have all our students back on campus for face to face learning this year. As safety protocols and guidelines continue to change, we will communicate information to you as soon as possible.

The first day of school is on Monday, August 9 and the first class begins at 7:00 a.m. You can view your bus route pick-up time with CCSD Transportation at http://www.ccsd.net/departments/transportation. Students can be dropped off on the east side of campus and will enter through the doorways between the B and C buildings or on the west side of campus and will enter through the doorways between the H building and the Gym. On the first day, students will report to their homeroom class and will attend all eight classes. Students will receive their schedules during their homeroom period and can view them in Infinite Campus beginning August 8. Freshmen and sophomore students who attend the Wrangler Round-Up orientation on August 5 will receive their schedules then.

If you have not done so already, it is critical that all parents complete the online registration process as soon as possible. Information about online registration can be found in your Parent Portal inbox or http://www.ccsd.net/parents/online-registration.php. For assistance with this process, please contact 702-799-PORT (7678).

Wrangler Round-Up Orientation for freshmen and sophomore students is scheduled for August 5 based on program areas. Please review the information below for your assigned program time. You will pick up schedules, locate classrooms, find your locker, pay fees, and meet classmates and some of your awesome teachers.
Program Area Orientation - August 5 (Freshmen and Sophomores ONLY)

12:00 - 2:00 Business Management, Cybersecurity and Sports Medicine

2:00 - 4:00 Biomedical Science, Biotechnology and Nursing

4:00 - 6:00 Digital Media, Engineering and Environmental Science

Open House will be Wednesday, August 25 from 5:30 - 7:30 for all students and parents. Open House is a great way for you to meet all your student’s teachers and learn about concepts taught in each class.

School ends each day at 1:25 pm and buses depart at approximately 1:35 pm. Activity buses for students participating in school clubs and events depart every day at approximately 4:00 pm. There are usually CCSD Transportation officials available to ensure students get on the correct bus.

WCTA invites all parents and guardians to attend our monthly Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meetings on the dates below. PAC meetings are a great way to learn about WCTA’s upcoming events and provide feedback to the administration.
