At Vista Choirs, we believe music has the power to shape character, connect communities, and ignite joy.
Our ensembles are known not only for their musical excellence, but for the energy, expression, and heart behind every performance.
We strive to create a space where all students—regardless of background—can grow as confident, capable, and compassionate artists.
Jonathan Baltera serves as the Director of Choirs at Sierra Vista High School in Las Vegas, NV, where he leads six curricular ensembles and oversees a thriving vocal music program known for its expressive sound and high artistic standards.
With over two decades of experience as a choral conductor, vocal coach, and music educator, Jonathan brings both passion and precision to the rehearsal room. He is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Battle Born Chorale, a professional-level chamber ensemble praised for its nuanced programming and innovative approach.
Outside the classroom, Jonathan serves as Chorus Master for Opera Las Vegas, preparing ensembles for major productions including Le Nozze di Figaro and Pagliacci. His long-term vision is to elevate the standard of choral artistry in Southern Nevada and beyond—helping singers not only sound beautiful, but connect deeply to the message behind the music.
He holds degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education, and has worked with ensembles ranging from beginning choirs to collegiate and professional groups. His rehearsals are known for balancing high expectations with humor, heart, and a relentless belief in the potential of every singer.
