About Me

Hello!! My name is Michael Tollefson and I am a high school counselor at Valley High School. I have worked for CCSD for 7 years, 3 years as a school counselor. I am a native Las Vegan having completed all of my education in Las Vegas. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from UNLV and a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Touro University.

When I am not working I love spending time with family and friends. I have three children, Alyssa 23, Alina 19, and Butter (Michael II) 11 . I loving coaching, traveling, the outdoors, and attending my favorite sports teams games. I have coached youth and high school football on and off for 22 years and track and field for the past 6 years. My favorite place to visit is Yellowstone National Park.

I chose school counseling to help students realize potential they never knew they had. I am a no-nonsense type counselor but I also have a soft-side. I like to get to know my students so I am better suited to understand their needs. I love to joke and have as much fun as possibly allowed.
