My name is Ivana Barajas and this is my fifth year at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy. I graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and Masters's in Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Mathematics. Before teaching, I had worked for a local engineering firm for seven years. In 2013, my career path changed by moving from the private sector to teaching. This is my tenth year teaching. I am very excited to be a part of the amazing team at NWCTA and looking forward to working with all the students.Â
I am also an advisor for the Technology Student Organization (TSA) at our school. TSA is a national, non-profit organization of high school and middle school student members who are engaged in STEM. Since TSA was chartered in 1978, over 5,000,000 members have participated through competitions, intracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, and community service.
