Northwest is known for not having any school teams, but they do have sport clubs. There are multiple sport clubs including volleyball, soccer, basketball, and tennis. Volleyball is a popular club meeting Monday’s after school until 3:30 p.m. Jessica Hopkins is a freshman at Northwest that struggles keeping up with volleyball as she plays for another team daily. With a busy schedule she maintains a straight A report card.
Hopkins starts her day off by waking up at 5:00 a.m. to start her day at school and keeps workout clothes with her everyday. On Mondays, she has to attend two volleyball practices and occasionally games. Once she gets out of volleyball club at school she gets picked up by her mom and is taken to her other practice from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
That gives Hopkins around three hours to do her school work and get ready for bed, as she makes herself go to sleep at 10:00 p.m. During her busy schedule she does try to squeeze in full healthy meals as she is an athlete, but most of the time it does not work out as she has short time periods to get in between places. Leading her to eat fast food or instant meals, causing her not to perform as well as she does with her healthy balanced meals.
