Poetry: 1-4 poems, all forms allowed (prose-poetry, free-verse, erasure, etc.)

Prose: 1-3 pieces, 2000 words or less each. (creative non-fiction, short story, flash fiction, etc.) 

Other Types of Writing: 1-3 pieces, 2000 words or less each.

Art and Photography: 1-10 pieces.

• Include a short, third-person bio about yourself as prompted. Include any previous publications, your program area, and fun facts.

• Try your best to be free of mechanical errors in your writing. Check for spelling and grammar mistakes before submitting — the editors will not want to do it for you.

• Give credit where credit is due — The Northwest Press will not accept plagiarized work.

• Any work with clear discriminatory intent (ie. racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.) will not be accepted. Unnecessary graphic depictions will also not be accepted.

• You will get free feedback whether or not you are rejected or accepted.

• Be sure it is school appropriate.
