Student-athlete Braiden Foster started his wrestling career at the young age of seven. Now a sophomore at Northwest he continues to wrestle for his club and local high school. Wrestling has led not only to many accomplishments but also long-term memories.
As many sports face difficult challenges its important that athletes find a way to move past them and learn from their mistakes no matter how hard that might seem.
“ A challenge I have faced is the frustration I get after and during a match. The best way I can overcome that challenge is by getting my mental state stronger before my next match starts.” Braiden said.
Wrestling doesn't just come with challenges, but also with learning lessons that help connect with teammates as well as improve the athlete's work ethic.
“ The biggest thing I have learned is how to overcome adversity in the sport and that the work you put in is the result you get out of it, so it's important to learn from our mistakes and move past them.” Braiden expressed
Throughout all the challenges and learning experiences, most of Braiden’s proudest moments come from the accomplishments and memories he made.
“ My biggest accomplishment from wrestling is being rated number one in Nevada for this high school session. It made me feel accomplished and proud of myself, knowing that all my hard work paid off.”
