Lady Rebels Win Back to Back

The outstanding UNLV women's basketball team has been compelling many audiences after multiple successful wins. After an astonishing win against the Mountain West Conference, going overall 31-3, the team has been crushing the following teams including Colorado State.  

“I feel really good that the lady rebels are winning because I’m going to go to college at UNLV and I just enjoy supporting them,” freshman Amelia Abeyta said. 

After the basketball team won the Mountain West Conference, they moved on to Colorado State and crushed them using the skills of each player. With the bench, they had scored 31 out of the 83 points scored the whole game. This is the 26th straight win against conferences. The first quarter started off great with four straight points ending the quarter with 23-20. This unstoppable team will have high hopes for the next games to end with victory. 

“I think UNLV will definitely win against New Mexico Lobos because they are just so good and undefeatable,” freshman Chassidy Rorin claimed. 

There are a lot of players in the team that have scored multiple times. Some of these rebels showed their amazing skills out of the bench with Amarachi Kimpson tied as the leading scorer with a “career” high of 16 points and saving the team 26-25 in the second quarter. Kimpson was not the only one with 16 points scored a piece; Desi-Rae Young also tied with her. There are many players in the team with astonishing scores and skills making fans admire them much more. 

“One of my favorite players on the team is Ashely Scoggin because not a lot of people talk about her even though she is one of the best players,” freshman Amelia Abeyta said.  

Ashley Schoggin is one of the guards of the Lady Rebels and was in double figures, scoring 10 points and having 10 rebounds. Nneka Obiazor also scored 12 points by scoring a “three-pointer” line at a 2 for 3 and 5 for 10. These rebounds were the second-best this season. As the 4th quarter formed stimulated fans, at 20 seconds left, CSU scored within four on a three-pointer, but Kiara Jackson brought the fans for a big cheer, leaving the score final to 83. 

“I really enjoyed watching their games and hope to watch another one of their games soon because their games really brings me to the edge of my seat,” freshman Jada Vinson says.
