The upcoming 2025 F1 season comes with a big twist as Lewis Hamilton leaves Mercedes to join Charles Leclerc and Ferrari. Will it be enough to overtake Max Verstappen?
Lewis Hamilton takes his leave from his usual blue Mercedes crew and will take his talents to Ferrari. A plethora of people think this is a great signing for the Ferrari as he is known to be one of the most accomplished F1 racers of all time. However, the same people see it as a betrayal to the company he did it all with, Mercedes.
“I think it was a good move for Ferrari, but it was kind of messed up of Hamilton especially cause of all his history at Mercedes,” F1 Fan and NWCTA senior Ivanna Villanueva comments.
While Hamilton is believed to be one of the greatest racers of all time by Formula 1 fans, there is a new powerhouse on the track, Verstappen. With his Red Bull team, he has taken the F1 world by storm as he finished this season with 54 wins, third all-time, and the record for most single wins at 19. Ferrari’s signing of Hamilton has many fans questioning if it is enough.
“No, I don’t think The combo of Leclerc and Hamiton will beat out Verstappen,” Villanueva states.
Lewis Hamilton has had many years of experience of racing in F1. As a veteran, he brings many skills and accolades that could help Ferrari improve in the 2025 season. During his time in McLaren and Ferrari, Hamilton was the winningest driver with 113 career wins over 16 years. He is tied with the most championships all-time with Michael Schumacher at seven.
“I think Hamilton will improve Ferarri due to his veteran experience,” F1 viewer Lissete McFee
shares.
