CCSD constantly lacks in its ability to provide for students as well as teachers. Students and teachers alike have made their frustration clear.
“CCSD has made me feel that they do not value education, teachers and student’s ambitions,” says sophomore Kira Stenson, “They make us seem overlooked and undervalued.”
Students are constantly let down when the school district fails to meet their needs. With Nevada ranked as forty-ninth for education in the nation, CCSD should be forming higher standards of education.
“They consistently do whatever is best or easiest for the few board people rather than considering the needs of teachers, students and staff overall,” says sophomore McKenna Gordon.
Their neglect is clear when looking at how students behave now compared to just five years ago or more. Many students have become destructive and unruly.
“Maybe it’s just me getting older but I’ve noticed more stealing, fighting, disrespect and uncaring attitudes from my peers, and it seems like teachers, admin and the district can’t get through to them to try and fix this,” says Gordon.
The school district must step up or students will not be able to succeed in their futures. Whether it is in college or their career paths. CCSD’s constant carelessness will negatively affect many futures across the country.
“Whether it is hours worked or safety on our campuses,” says Stenson, “These steps will create a better climate for students and a better morale for teachers.”
