Bring back First Friday at Northwest
First Friday was an after-school event that allowed students and teachers to connect. It gave students a chance to relax, play games, and spend time with friends. Many students at Northwest believe that First Friday should be brought back because it helped them feel more connected to the community.
Sometime during November, the First Friday was taken out due to the cold weather. Some students say that the principal would bring it back in February, but many are unsure if or when the event is going to return. Many students from Northwest also think Friday First should be brought back.
“Yes! They should bring it back, I loved to hang out with my friends and people I enjoy. See some old friends or connect with new ones!” Guilanna Rodriguez said.
Many students want to bring back First Friday because it was more than a fun event; it was a good way to go out on Fridays after a long school week, and it created fun memories with friends. It's also a great way to create fun memories with friends.
“ I look forward to First Friday because it is a break from homework.” Analuz Lopez added.
Some students even suggested that they should add more activities. Like small businesses, doodle stations, or food trucks. Expanding the event could give students the opportunity to try new things, explore creative things, and enjoy different experiences away from classrooms.
“ If First Friday does come back, they should add some more activities.” Allison Wierzbicki replied.
First Friday isn't just a fun event after school; it can help build friendships, reduce stress, and build the Northwest community. The combination of games, music, socializing, and snacks made it a good way to end the week. Bringing it back would give students a fun way to reconnect with each other and make memories that last a long time.
